Aims of the Project REMEMBER The purpose of the project KEEP ALIVE THE PAST MEMORY FOR THE FUTURE (REMEMBER) consists in creating the framework for integrating and accumulating new pieces of knowledge upon the events that had taken place during the period 1944-1964 throughout Eastern Europe, when fundamental, democratic and traditional values had been destroyed in the context of the Stalinist occupation and of the imposition of the comunist dictatorship. The submitted events aim at imparting and at exchanging experience with respect to the modalities of remembering this dark side of history as support for building a new profile of active citizen of Europe. Two events will be organized: - Colloqium in Fagaras, Romania, in November 2009, with the theme "Remembrance of Pain and Hope" (Memorial al durerii si al sperantei) - this workshop will prepare the plan for a virtual exhibition with the same subject;
- International Symposium in Fagaras, Romania, in July 2010, with the theme "Calvary - Deportations and destinies" ( Calvarul - deportari si destine), when the virtual anticomunist resistance propsed exhibition will be also launched.
Some products will be developed: - Site of the project REMEMBER;
- CD with the virtual exhibition "Remembrance of Pain and Hope";
- Proceeding of the International Symposium "Calvary - Deportations and destinies" ;
The main outcome will be the REMEMBER network developement among the partners, to continue the activities of the project and to organise dissemination activities - meetings and debates. |
